The restoration demanded painstaking reconstruction of the Pepper's ghost optical illusion: a hidden CRT monitor reflects bright scanlines onto angled half-silvered glass over a back-lit lunar diorama backdrop, creating striking physical depth.
Engineers recapped the high-voltage flyback transformer and restored the discrete analog sound circuitry, returning the 45-year-old coin-op titan to public play.
